December Winter Storm Brings Icy Road Conditions

Several days of snow in Minnesota produced difficult road conditions across much of the state, with Minnesota State Patrol reporting nearly 200 crashes and hundreds of spinouts Sunday night into Monday morning, according to KVRR News in Moorhead, MN.

Minnesota State Troopers responded to 189 crashes that occurred between midnight Sunday, December 26 and 8 a.m. on Monday, December 27, KVVR reports. There were no fatalities. Twenty-one of the crashes resulted in non-life-threatening injuries. In addition to the crashes, at least 209 vehicles ran off the roadway. Minnesota State Patrol also assisted with 8 jack-knifed semis.

Even in crashes that are not life threatening, injuries can still be substantial and lead to missed work, medical bills, and issues with insurance.
