CASE ALERT: Hummus Recall due to Potential Salmonella
Our team of attorneys is currently investigating claims that Classic Hummus produced and distributed by Sabra Dipping Company could be contaminated with Salmonella.
According to FDA.gov, Sabra Dipping Company announced on March 29, 2021 that it is recalling approximately 2,100 cases of 10 oz Classic Hummus due to a potential Salmonella contamination discovered during routine screening by the FDA. The recall includes one SKU of 10 oz Classic Hummus produced on Friday, February 10, 2021 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 12:00 AM with a “Best Before” date of April 26.
The hummus being recalled was distributed in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, Mississippi, Maine, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, New Jersey, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. The UPC for the affected products is 300067.
Most people infected with Salmonella develop symptoms which include:
Most illnesses occur within 6 hours to 6 days after eating the contaminated food and most people remain ill for 4 to 7 days. People that have underlying GI issues may be affected more severely, as well as immunocompromised and elderly people.
These lawsuits are not part of a class action or multi-district litigation (MDL). Each case is unique and remains separate from other cases. The statute of limitations to sue may be only one or two years after the purchase or consumption of the recalled hummus, so we urge victims to seek legal counsel immediately. We are demanding that the food production companies reimburse our clients for their doctor bills, lost earnings and pain and suffering.
