Having represented tens of thousands of clients and helping them recover hundreds of millions of dollars in his career, Troy brings a wealth of experience to the ASK LLP team. He has represented both large Fortune 500 companies and injured individuals. Over the past few decades, Troy’s legal career has focused on fighting for justice for people injured by no fault of their own at the hands of the world’s largest corporations. He has also successfully represented individuals in discrimination cases and large class against large corporate defendants. Troy has been involved in significant discrimination cases that made it to the United States Supreme Court, fought on behalf of thousands of production employees, and worked on the trial team that lead to a black box warning for a popular smoking cessation drug and a massive multi-million dollar global settlement for victims of the pharmaceutical company’s failure to warn.
His significant trial and deposition experience helps him lead ASK LLP’s mass tort department. Troy’s dedication to his work stems from a longtime passion for fighting for the underdog and average Americans, using his legal talents to level the playing field against well-funded corporate entities. Troy has served on the board of various organizations, including homeless shelters and organizations that helps victims of domestic violence. Troy volunteers his time bringing cases to trial and assisting victims obtain restraining orders for Tubman, a Minneapolis-based non-profit providing shelter and services to domestic violence victims.
Troy is a Minnesota native who earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and his Juris Doctorate from the Quinnipiac University School of Law. He lives in the Twin Cities with his wife and three children, and he enjoys running and coaching youth sports in his free time.
Troy graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law, J.D., magna cum laude (2005), was a visiting law student at the University of Minnesota School of Law (2005), and served as a member of the Quinnipiac Law Review. He completed externships with a federal judge in Connecticut and in an appellate prosecutor clinic where he argued before the Connecticut Court of Appeals. He holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota (2001).
Troy is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Minnesota Association for Justice.

Troy has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. He has also served as a volunteer attorney and board member for Tubman, a homeless shelter and domestic violence advocacy nonprofit. He is a former board member of the Dakota Woodlands homeless shelter. Troy is active in the community as a volunteer youth sports coach.
